IBS Conducts Another Round of Reproductive Management in the Leite Rondônia Project

The Instituto BioSistêmico (IBS) carried out the third round of reproductive management services in October for farms participating in the Leite Rondônia Project, located in the Ji-Paraná-RO region.

During these visits, veterinarian Fábio Spinelli conducted ultrasound examinations to assess herd health, apply protocols for cows, and diagnose pregnancies. As he explains, eligible cows undergo ovulation synchronization protocols for subsequent fixed-time artificial insemination (AITF).

For many of the farmers served, the use of ultrasound examinations for their cows was a new experience made possible by the project. Image-based diagnostics enable the evaluation of cows’ reproductive systems, helping to identify diseases that could affect herd fertility.

“In addition to clinical evaluations and the application of protocols, farmers are guided on the importance of providing high-quality and well-balanced nutrition for dairy cows, including the supply of appropriate mineral salts to support animal reproduction,” explains veterinarian Fábio Spinelli.

About the Leite Seridó Project

Conceived and executed by the Instituto BioSistêmico, the Leite Seridó project has the support of resources from Fundação Zoetis and Sebrae/RN. The initiative seeks to promote the development of dairy farming on a total of 100 properties, with a family farming profile, in the Seridó region, in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, in the Northeast region of Brazil.

It proposes a set of activities and resources for technological assistance, structured and modulated into four thematic axes aimed at improving the production process: good practices, reproductive management, nutritional management and health management.

The project uses the CheckMilk methodology, which has a platform with a management system and application for technical teams and producers. The system facilitates project management and the application helps the producer on a daily basis, as a support, an extension of the IBS consultancy that can be accessed at any time in the palm of the hand.
